Why ERP projects take so long – and why they don't have to
Classic ERP implementations grow long for different reasons: every process is scoped from scratch, the system is bent around existing habits, and each customization adds another round of alignment, testing and documentation. The result is the 12-to-24-month project that the market has come to expect.

What the package includes
The package is built for finance-led organizations and comes in two variants:

Starter – live in 6 weeks. Finance, master data, HR core and SAP's AI assistant Joule.

Extended – live in 9 weeks. Everything in Starter plus purchase order management, supply chain, sales and selected Walldorf Consulting extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform.
Both variants follow the same delivery model: Discover (week 0), Prepare (week 1), Explore with Fit-to-Standard workshops (weeks 2–3), Realize with AI-supported configuration, data migration and user acceptance tests (weeks 4–6) and Deploy with go-live, cut-over and three weeks of hypercare. The scope is fixed and so is the price: it covers the implementation service, while the SAP Cloud ERP subscription is licensed separately from SAP. No integrations or custom development are part of the first step – that is what keeps it fast, and it is what makes later expansion straightforward.
How 6 to 9 weeks becomes realistic
Two things make the timeline work. The first is project discipline: a fixed scope, Fit-to-Standard and short decision cycles. The second is the AI Consultant, developed by Walldorf Consulting, which is part of every GROW Fast project.
The AI Consultant "knows" the results of the Fit-to-Standard workshops and the resulting requirements, he "understands" the documentation in SAP Cloud ALM, and executes configuration activities directly in SAP Cloud ERP – supervised by Walldorf Consulting's senior SAP consultants. "With our AI-supported delivery approach we typically see around 50 percent less implementation effort – and go-live in 6 to 9 weeks instead of the 12 to 24 months a traditional ERP project would take," says Daniel Habrunner.
